NFL’s Tualatin Island Greens get green light for season opener

Tualatini Island greens are back in the NFL game, and they’ll be playing the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Lambeau Field.

The NFL confirmed Wednesday the season opener will be the Green and Gold’s second visit to Green Bay, after a 1-1 tie on Dec. 30, 2009.

The Packers were eliminated by the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game.

Tualatin is in the Central Valley of northern Wisconsin, which is about a two-hour drive west of Milwaukee.

The Green Bay-Tualatin game will be one of the only time Packers fans will be able to enjoy some of the scenic scenery in Wisconsin.

Tualati is one of Wisconsin’s most popular destinations for outdoor events.

In addition to the Packers’ visit, the game will feature the Minnesota Vikings, who are scheduled to host the New York Jets on Sunday.
